Aromatherapy is the use of volatile oils known as essential oils extracted from various parts of plants - flowers, bark, seeds, leaves, and roots. It is one of the natural healing therapies applied as a preventative measure as well as a healing treatment in acute or chronic illness, and supports the body in its ability to heal itself naturally.
The volatile liquids or resins in each plant have their own characteristic therapeutic value and aroma, hence the term 'aromatherapy" was coined by the French chemist Rene-Maurice Gattefosse in 1928; but healing with Aromatherapy Essential Oils was being used way back in ancient times and has been proven effective in promoting the healing of various conditions because of the therapeutic properties of the oils.
Each fragrance of essential oils used in aromatherapy has a different effect on the functions of the body, causing changes in blood pressure, pulse and other functions. The true value of essential oils is yet to be appreciated, but as time goes by it is hoped that aromatherapy would really be given much more
Essential oils not only have amazing therapeutic values but are also delightfully fragrant. Aromatherapy should be practised by all persons interested in the personal improvement of their health and well being.
Essential oils are composed of three main elements, oxygen, hydrogen, and carbon as well as a tremendous number of powerful chemical agents, all combined to give the oils their awesome healing qualities. They contain certain elements that are antiseptic, anti-infectious, anti-viral, sedative, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, as well as anitoxidant. In order to obtain real benefit from aromatherapy, it is imperative that you endeavor to get genuine grades of aromatherapy essential oils. Be careful to ensure as far as possible that you are getting pure essential oils and not just "perfume" or "fragrant" oils that are nothing but sweet smelling over-processed
adulterated oils that may even be synthetic, which obviously would not provide the real therapeutic value that you hope for from essential oils.
Truly pure essenial oils to be used in aromatherapy are very expensive because it is extremely difficult to
produce them. It could take up to 2000 lbs of raw plant material to produce just one pound of essential oils for aromatherapy.
When applied to the skin (as well as massaged into the soles of the feet), essential oils have the ability to penetrate into cell membranes and the therapeutic elements are absorbed into the bloodstream and immune system. Aromatherapy works on the whole body providing relief of such ailments as burns, disgestive disorders, anxiety and stress problems, skin conditions, and a number of other maladies. Simply breathing in the vapor of aromatherapy essential oils provides the body with amazing therapeutic benefits. SPECIAL SITES Be Healthy Build Your Income Look and Learn Resort Wear Self Help
