Aromatherapy -
the Use of Essential Oils

Aromatherapy is the use of volatile oils known as essential oils extracted from various parts of plants - flowers, bark, seeds, leaves, and roots. It is one of the natural healing therapies applied as a preventative measure as well as a healing treatment in acute or chronic illness, and supports the body in its ability to heal itself naturally.

The volatile liquids or resins in each plant have their own characteristic therapeutic value and aroma, hence the term 'aromatherapy" was coined by the French chemist Rene-Maurice Gattefosse in 1928; but healing with Aromatherapy Essential Oils was being used way back in ancient times and has been proven effective in promoting the healing of various conditions because of the therapeutic properties of the oils.

Each fragrance of essential oils used in aromatherapy has a different effect on the functions of the body, causing changes in blood pressure, pulse and other functions.
